An educational Montessori activity tray starting in kindergarten. Using sand is a tactile and sensory way to introduce children to forming letters and numbers.
It's that simple with the Montessori sand tray: A template card (not included) is placed next to the sandbox or in the slot on the top of the tray. The child writes the letter or number in the sand with his index finger. The writing movement goes from your fingertips directly to your brain.
Quickly wipe away and the next characters and numbers will be conjured up in the sand. This encourages the children to practice and write without saying “right or wrong”.
Children are really excited when they learn the letters of their own name, for example.
